Carlos Aguiar

Carlos Aguiar is a highly accomplished Sustainable Energy professional with a Ph.D. in Sustainable Energy from Arizona State University. His research focuses on wind, solar, and hydrogen technologies, energy poverty, and energy transitions. Currently, he collaborates with the City of Phoenix as City Energy Manager, leading the City’s efforts to transition to use 100% clean energy by 2030 and other sustainable energy goals. Previously, at the Energy Commission of Sonora, Mexico, he played a key role in installing 630MW of utility-scale solar energy. For over 12 years, Dr. Aguiar has served as Delegate of the Energy Committee for the Arizona-Mexico Commission.
